Geoff Love Cashes In 1
From 1978 or "not long after Star Wars came out". This was one of my favourites as a nipper, possibly one of my first records, donated by Grandad. Lost long ago, found this copy in a charity shop. Hoorah!
I love the copyright-crime-avoiding additions to the Enterprise!

Popped his clogs in 1991, apparently. Here's an appreciation site with many fab covers:

This album takes me back to my later school days & was played at all my friend's parties. I was thrilled to find it on CD a couple of years back.

I never had this, but I had the similarly cashintastic Close Encounters Of The Third Kind And Other Disco Galactic Themes by Geoff Love's Big Disco Sound from the same year.

Got that one too on vinyl which is equally good.
I also have the CD which contains both albums, minus a couple of tracks from the LP's.

Interesting - if you Google "geoff love star wars close encounters", this page comes up at the top of the list, ahead of blogs & websites selling the albums!

Ha! Quite right too!

Geoff Love was a musical genius, according to my dad, and as I get older I tend to agree.

STOP PRESS: As featured in the latest edition of SFX magazine! (no. 185)
Turn to the back page, and you'll find an article by Dave Golder, the "special projects ed." on how this album got him into sci-fi. Photo of album cover by yours truly.

I have this one. God bless MFP. I got this at the same time as Story of Star Wars.
