Like Tika, I was thinking this would be a
tart rather than a cake hehe. Either way it
looks delicious and I like the deliberate
mess you've made with the strawberries at
bottom left and knife at the top. Envious of
that marble surface, I am!
, believe me! It is 42 deg. C and this is
only the beginning. The peak of Summer hits
in May and I know there will be no respite
then. The journey to work isn't great when
you are sweating even before you reach your
destination! And we do not have a winter
season actually. Only a pleasant Spring
which lasts from the second week of December
to 2nd week of January, after that it is hot,
hotter, hottest upto June, till the clouds
burst into rains:).
250 gr puff pastry 1 tbsp sugar 1 cup greek yoghurt (or creme fraiche) 100-150 ml heavy cream 1 vanilla caster sugar according to taste strawberry
Preheat oven to 180ºC. Place the pastry in a
baking tray (about 20x30 cm). Trim the edges
of pastry. Place over a baking sheet and fill
it with dried beans or pieweight and bake it
blind for about 10 minutes. Remove baking
sheet with the weight, spread 1 tbsp of sugar
on the pastry and bake for 10 minutes or
until golden. Mix the greek yoghurt (or creme fraiche),
caster sugar and vanilla until just combined.
Beat heavy cream and gently fold it to the
yoghurt mixture. Spread over the pastry, top
with the strawberries. Serves 2–4

On this side of the globe, we are already tired of the Summer! I thought of it as a tart too:). The bit of mess is what shows how delicious it was.

Sorry all! Yes, it is a tart, but to me all sweets are considered cake. :)
Harini, tired of summer? You are crazy :)))))

The creamy marble is the perfect compliment to the creamy layer of the strawberry tart. I like the couple stray messy strawberries on the side.

When you say vanilla, what do you mean? A vanilla bean or vanilla extract, and if so how much.
This looks divine! I would live to make it!
StuderV (9 months ago | reply)
I mean seeds of 1 vanilla pod.
