San Diego [Explored]

"Discovered by the German's in 1904. They named it San Diego. Which of course in German means a whale's vagina." -Ron Burgundy

For the folks that have never seen Anchorman.. :-P www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT8sIT4vBUQ

Just another shot taken with the B+W ND110 from Coronado Island at sunrise. I should note this is 3 different exposures manually blended in CS5 to maximize dynamic range. One for the foreground one for the sky and another for the sunrise. I think this is my best blend so far and I'm getting much more comfortable doing it. Just need more practice, meaning I need to go out and take more shots! I also believe this is an example where blending may be a better choice than using a GND and a reverse GND stacked over a Big Stopper as I wouldn't been able to get that much detail out of the skyline without having the sun blownout, unless I wanted a silhouette of it. Post processing done using a combination of LR3, Nik Software and CS5.

Downtown San Diego taken from Coronado Island, CA.

Punchy colour and tasty light on the buildings and wet sand too. The blend looks pretty natural and unless you're a whizz with grad filters, was definitely the way to go. Good stuff man!
