El buzón de los Tres Mosqueteros

Para muchos esta foto tal vez no dice nada. Para los de Colonia de hace un tiempo este, creo que tal vez valga la pena. Es el único buzón que hay. Está frente a lo que una vez fue un icono de la ciudad, Los Tres Mosqueteros. Hoy en día entre Internet, los e-mails y las pegatinas de las elecciones es como un monumento al anacronismo. Recuerdo todavía la emoción de escribir una carta en papel, comprar la estampilla pegarla, y ya empezar a vivir la anticipación de quien recibiría la carta desde el momento de tirar la carta al interior de este buzón. Además sirvió quién sabe para cuantas ocasiones que fue referencia para encuentro de parejitas. En fin, pura nostalgia de tiempos idos nomás...

Probably to most of you this photo means nothing. To those who lived in Colonia some time ago, may be it does. It is the only mail box in town. It is located in front of a long ago city icon, Los Tres Mosqueteros (The Three Mousketeers). Today, in the Internet and e-mail time and the political campaigns (in these latitudes political parties cover the hole city with posters glued to everything standing still), this mail box looks like a monument to anachronism. I still remember the emotion of hand writing a letter on paper, buying the stamp to stick to the envelope, and beginning to live the anticipation of the feeling of the one who would receive it from the very moment of dropping it inside this mailbox. Besides it was useful for so many lovers meeting place to start a date. Anyway, pure nostalgia of time gone by…
