2008 South America/Antarctic Cruise

We took a 68-day cruise completely around South America. Besides seeing both coastlines and cities, we had an amazing week of cruising Antarctica. One of the highlights was a visit to South Georgia, something that is very rare for a full-sized cruise ship. Later in the cruise, we sweltered on a cruise up the Amazon river as far as Manaus. So, there was a lot of contrast: big cities and the Pampas, hot Amazon and cold Antarctic, modern high-rises and tiny villages.
