      i am so sorry you have to go through this. i suffered through migraines for a bit and there is nothing more miserable...good luck to you, and striking image...

      i'm sorry you get migraines, i used to too, and i remember laying there feeling like someone was hitting my head with a sledge-hammer. ;( poor baby, i hope they go away forever!

      I get migraines too....I take Vicodin and they normally don't help...they make me want to die when I get them, they are so freakin' painful...I feel for ya...what do you take for them? I've had them for 10 years.

      @ Dezz, if i feel that migraine pain is coming, i try to take Tylenol as soon as possible. If it doesn't work and pain progresses I go for a shot, either Imitrex or European painkillers which I bring from home. There is also Maxalt which I hate, it helps the pain most of the time, but 2 days later it gives me terrible depression.       I can't take Vicodin or Percose. They makes me sick, but don't take away pain. So they're just sitting in my medicine cabinet, wasting space :)

      Ever try an occipital nerve block? My headache specialist will do it about once a month. Not more than that or you get nerve damage. It's SOOOO worth it though-you should request one.

      Narcotics can actually aggravate migraines.

      I've tried Imitrex and Amerge to no avail. My mother has been getting them since she was 18 also...sometimes, if they are bad enough - she has to go to the ER to get a shot of Demoral...I haven't done that yet, b/c I can't afford a $1000 ER bill for one shot.

      @Dezz, thank you so much for your support and care. I used to go to ER too, but i have an insurance so don't have to pay for anything. But I hate hospitals in general. I got medicine injection and learned how to give shots to myself. So now I do it myself to myself :) But still it's not the answer. I need to cure this horrible disease which i suffer all my life. Need to get rid of it completely.
      So what's working for you?

      Sorry you suffer from these horrible things, I have been unable to work for the last 4 years because of them.
      I take Naramig (one of the Triptans) to kill the head pain takes about 2 hours, but the after effects of each migraine lasts for several days.
      Even the top experts have no idea what causes this affliction :-(
