- Anthrax sticker!
- Almost exactly the size as the real bass' neck.
- A VERY rare feature on a bass guitar ; ) & a mostly useless hindrance all round, or is that a switch rather than a tremolo bar? - DARKspawn
- Precision-type head, nice ^_^ - DARKspawn
- Oh yeah, that I know, it's there for the functionality with the game.
- Sorry for the late bump, but what model is that? - -Five-
- It's no prob at all. From what my mom told me, it's a cheap Strat clone. When at the guitar shop, the salesman convinced her dad to buy this instead of a Warlock. We're both equally pissed about that :P
Family Snapshot
The controller is, of course, larger than the normal Red Octane controller, and is a little larger than a Fender Stratocaster, just like in real life.
This is the third of my three controllers, you may view my other two with these links.
Gibson Explorer Controller
B.C. Rich Warlock Controller
The next family snapshot is here.

What's great is that it works on the PS2..

As a guitarist, I'd just like to say I'd love to head-butt Sony, but as you own a real guitar I can forgive you

I understand your feelings, DARKspawn. If you count the ones that my brother and dad own, that makes about 7-8 guitars, including a bass guitar.

Uh oh... Good question.
Looks like I need some money to burn on some new guitars... XD

DARKspawn: why Sony? Because they licensed the game to be released on the PS2/PS3? or created the system that it first came out on? I'm assuming you mean Red Octane, Harmonix, Activision or Neversoft (depending on which version of the game you feel is "responsible", and who is the responsible party (publisher or developer)).
But seriously, it's just a game, if you don't enjoy it, let those that do, do. :)

No you see, I am a musician, I play guitar, & it takes years of practice, in fact I teach guitar too, & alot of kids seem to think a real instrument is as easy as pressing buttons on a glamourised console controler, but I have to deal with this every day as a musician, you don't, so I understand your lack of perspective.
Blue | Star (54 months ago | reply)
@ vipernth and DARKspawn: Just so you know, I do play both (now with a Warlock ^_^), and I love both. IMO, glamorization of an instrument is a double-edged sword: On one hand, some people may expect playing to be easy, and end up giving up when they try. On the other hand, this just leaves more room for the talented musicians that are already around. Might cut out some of the garbage players (and some talented ones too... >_<)

Also (DarkSpawn), rhythm works no matter what the instrument. You can take guitar hero skills and go play drums with them. It wont teach you how to put your finger on a string, and how to remember what fret to use, but it will indeed teach you how to strum, and how to respond to a rhythm, in real time, while reading notation. This skill is an integral part of ANY instrument, and can be transferred elsewhere.
As an ex-guitar player, I breezed through Guitar Hero on the "hard" setting, getting 80% of songs in 1 try. Because I had all my rhythm skills from my decade of guitar playing... Hitting 5 buttons is easy.
That kids see things simplier than it may be is not really Sony's fault. That's how kids are.

You guys both bring up very valid points, in fact I think the game would also help alot in left/right hand coordination, which is, lets face it, probably the biggest first hurdle for learners.
Bluestar: A warlock? Not a BC Rich Platinum series? Man I have always wanted one of those, so much better than the destroyer or the V because you can actually play sitting down!

Wait, so the LEGO controller functions?! HOW?! Maybe I can make my LEGO mechas function if I can get the parts for bigger mechas to fit in electronics. You are amazing dude!

Thanks muchly!
The electronic components from the real Guitar Hero controllers fit so perfectly with Lego, I was very surprised when I first did it.
Have you thought about using NXT functions at all?
Phong Chang. (34 months ago | reply)
You're welcome. However, I can't afford to get NXT yet. Partially because I can't order parts of the internet because we have a potentiol hacker, so for the time being, my parents aren't allowing me to order anything.
