Yes, Büsum's "fishermen's church" is indeed furnished with pirate loot. I guess they were fishing for more than just seafood during medieval times. *LOL* This solid bronze baptismal font was raided from the island of Pellworm by pirate Cord Widderich, who then presented it as a consecration gift to the newly built church on the island of Büsum where he settled as a trader. The people of Pellworm occasionally whine about wanting it back, but after half a millennium I'm highly doubtful that will ever happen. Cord Widderich eventually met a true pirate's end in the form of death by hanging on a trip through Holstein, but he's somewhat of a local folk hero in Dithmarschen.
