a month ago my father died.

for most of the past 12 years, we didn't talk — except for angry bursts of an ongoing bitter disagreement.

truth is, i can't remember the last time i saw him...even though he lived less than two miles away.

now that he's dead, i'll never see him again.

except when i look in the mirror and see his eyes looking straight into mine every day.
