I just want to add, the price for the RAM in your system, I'm assuming two 8GB sticks.. costs as much if not more than my whole system, new.. Dell XPS 430 w/ 24" monitor. I only have 6GB of ram in it.

Vincent, the Mac Pro has 8 slots for RAM, so I just bought 8 2 gig sticks and BAM! 16 gigs of RAM. And the Mac Pro supports up to 32 gigs, so when 16 isn't cutting it I'll just upgrade.
