why walk to work when you can ride?

why walk to work when you can ride? by blakeweb.
This escalator (only a tiny bit of which is shown) takes commuters back and forth between then downtown area by the harbor and where they live up on the hill.

It gives this city a pretty impressive set of transit options:
- subway: incredibly clean, smooth, fast, huge, and affordable
- bus/minibus/tram: get you anywhere the subway wont, quickly and cheaply, though you're skimping a bit on safety =)
- escalator: takes you from the main downtown area near the water far up the hill, passing over all the roads on the way up
- many more: ferries, taxis, water taxis, trams, trains, ...
