Hofbrauhaus Catastrophe

This is a once in a lifetime type of photo of my sister and I...
We were just trying to capture the beer spilling a little bit when we shared a cheers with two liters at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich -- as you can see, the results were slightly different...

      Bangers and splash.

This really wasn't intentional. The glass must have had a crack in it or something.

Those glasses look icy cold. Chilled glass has a tendency to break easily.

I came close to breaking a mug at Hofbrauhaus, but at the one that's inexplicably in Newport, Kentucky.... not Munich :(

I love how the beer droplets and the beer 'membrane' seem suspended in air. Great shot.

Perhaps the glass mug was still hot from the dishwasher when it was filled with cold beer, putting the glass under stress. However, it does not look as though the woman's glass was full when struck.
      Awesome photo.

Very cool. I guess being on the right of the shot is less fun than the left (glass shard excluding)

did they replace your food afterwards or did you have to leave anyway because you were beer drenched?

@ ucbrigade -- the food was pretty much wasted because we didn't want to take the chance that we were eating small pieces of glass. Neither the food or the beer was replaced. We actually stayed another 30 minutes or so before closing time.
