Mechanic, Welder, and Guitar Maker

Kamou, 29, works on a friend's scooter in the morning. The mechanic before him stripped one of the screw mounts for the exaust, so he has to find a way to fix the problem with what he has. Mechanics in Senegal have to be a lot more ingenious to be able to fix broken parts instead of replacing them.
Kamou also builds guitars from scratch, making the body from two cross-sections of a very large local gourd called a calabass.

~a fine environmental portrait, the lighting here is especially worth noting, plus the subject non-interaction w/ your lens~

      Hi

Everything about the photo is great except he is looking out of the photo, why? Is he looking at the manual? Eating his lunch (there's a bread roll to his left - the lower right of image)? Is his mobile phone ringing?

If everything remained the same except he was looking to his right, (at the scooter) the story would be much more self explanatory.

He's just discovered the stripped screw mount, the ponderous thoughts as he determines the method to fix the problem. Then the image really tells the story :)

      Kind regards

      Peter
