father-in-law of my dreams.
upon asking if it was ok to post this and who i could credit for the photos this is the response i got: (truly a fascinating story):
Of course it's OK. The first was taken about 1961 (I was born in
1944),
and the second one was taken in 2004 when Kathy and I went to visit
brothers in FLA. I think my father took the first picture with an old
Polaroid instant (they were just coming out then). The second one was
taken by Kathy with my Canon Powershot S30 (3 Megapixel) The
INTERESTING thing about the pictures is, even though they were taken
at
the same table in the same room (kitchen) of the same house, the house
was about 10 miles away from where it was in the first picture! The
family that bought the house from my parents loved it so much that
when
Wal-Mart moved in to buy up the place, he went to the trouble and
expense of moving the house farther out into the country, and that's
where we were in the second picture.
Let me know if you need anything else from the museum...

that's really wicked. What a handsome man, and he looks so young. Has he literally had the same hairstyle for the whole time?

This is so cool! did you just find this old picture and decide to do it? or has it been something you have been wanting to do for years? This is really neat.

i didn't take either of them. i'm searching out the photographers now so i can credit them. i do intend to take a similar shot of my husband and brother-in-law just for giggles.

That story rocks.
Your father-in-law rocks.
These photos rock.
Picking up your house and moving it 10 miles into the country rocks.

Excellent juxtaposition of 2 different moments in time.
I know u didnt take them but do u know if he posed in the second one so that the pose is like the first? Its somewhat surreal.
