Pet Peeve (Week #25)

    Don't be stupid
    (f/13, 1/50 sec, 48mm)

This is my pet peeve, too many drivers on the road are distracted with cell phones, texting and talking on them... 80% of crashes, and 65% of near crashes, involve some form of driver inattention within 3 seconds of the event...

Only 5 states prohibit drivers from talking on handheld cell phones while driving and 14 states ban text messaging for drivers.

I can't believe people are doing this! Well, I know they are ~ but it's unbelievable that people just don't care. I don't want my kid being hit by a car because of this stupidity. Ugh.

Hawaii is enabling their no cell-phone while driving ban on July 1!

It's an addiction. Unfortunate, and it kills people. People die because of this selfish habit. And what's more unfortunate is that the laws won't prevent texting. It will just make people more stealth in how they do it while driving.

I hope lawmakers nationwide consider passing a law that revokes driving privileges for life, whenever a motorist kills another motorist or a pedestrian.
