David Eby

David Eby by The Blackbird.
David lives and practices law in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Last night he offered ideas on how to solve the city's homelessness crisis at the Vision Vancouver party's all candidates (City Council) meeting. In his work with Pivot Legal Society, David has advocated for many of the city's marginalized citizens.

To the need for a compassionate approach on solving the city's homelessness crisis expressed by 16 other candidates, David added an intensity born of street-level experience to the discussion. His track record on issues of homelessness, housing and policing shows he possesses the "do-er" quality Vision Vancouver seeks in its nominees.

On September 20th, party members - of which there are now more than 16,000 - will have an opportunity to select eight Vision Vancouver candidates to run in the November 15th civic election. Gregor Robertson, the party's mayoral candidate, made solving homelessness his top priority while campaigning for his successful nomination. Few in the city are more knowledgeable about the issue and better qualified to deal with it than David.

He's got my vote.
