How to Capture a Blackbird

oooh....celebrecop! "through a blue lens...yadda yadda"
How to Capture a Blackbird by The Blackbird.
The man with the video camera arrived at Pigeon Park with Vancouver Police so I assume he works for or has been contracted by the Department to document the City's "successes" under Commissioner Geoff Plant's Project Civil City. He appears interested in recording more than the clean up crew at work, pesky photographers included.

Three neighbourhood NGOs have filed a human rights complaint against Mr. Plant in his role as Civil City Commissioner and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association .

Especially as I was at Oppenheimer Park at 5:00AM for another shoot and didn't have time to shave.

Yeah, he reminds me of one of the heavies in The Firm. I'm sure he's just doing his job.

huh ... intimidation at Pigeon Park, what a surprise!

I was on a "Gentrification Tour" with Wendy Pedersen and Jean Swanson a few weekends ago ... maybe about a dozen people (moslty from Kits), one megaphone and one lonely placard, and we did a big loop around just looking at new condos and flipped, emptied buildings ... by the time we got to Pigeon Park, VPD cruisers were passing us every 5 minutes, keeping a very close eye. It felt like, "Well of course you have the right to peacefully assemble, but ..."

Seen in your Pigeon Park Sweep set.(>?<)

Can't even take a walk around your own neighbourhood without someone minding your business for you.
