They thought it was awful, because they can't figure out what's going on, it's a great film and the trailers make it seem like a completely different film

some of my friends went to see the Box at the Laemmle in Pasadena and said that it's like a Rocky Horror kind experience with ppl yelling out crap and stuff.

That the whole point of the cult following is that it is that horrible :-)
