Before the miles of high rise condos, the vacationing hordes, the tacky gift shops and bumper to bumper traffic there was this. In a few hours the masses will spill out onto the beach and this will be gone.... until the next sunrise.
It looked like this for about two minutes, then the sun went behind a cloud and everything turned to gray.
This photo was taken on July 25, 2007 using a Nikon D50.

Thank you everyone. I didn't have a computer with me so I had to wait three days to see what I hoped would be a good one. I took two others from the same spot but the tripod sank slightly in the sand so I got a lot of blur. Thankfully one came out.

That is beautiful, i just love the variance in colours from end of the pier to the other, and the composition is superb, leading us from one side of the image to the other as well as down the pier. Really does look like a stunning scene.
