Breaking the Law, Breaking the Law

    In my younger days trouble had a way of finding me, fairly often. You could say that I was somewhat of a magnet for the occasional run in with the law. Mostly petty juvenile stuff. In fact, I was only ever arrested twice, that I can recall.

    So here I am now, in the middle of adulthood, a respectable law abiding citizen by most accounts. And then I see this sign. I can't help it, I feel a devilish grin spreading across my face. I am transported back to the days of my youth. I am jarred back to reality by the tap,tap tap of a night stick on my window. Suddenly I notice the tall muscular police officer standing beside my car. I Quickly realize from his stern look that he is aware of my inner thoughts. Rolling down the window, I prepare for the one sided conversation that I know will ensue. After some feeble plees of innocent thoughts I take my citation and role up the window. As luck would have it, even "thinking" about it is against the law and I am guilty.

      Hahaha great story there. I'm a magnet for trouble too! No matter how hard I try to avoid it, it just happens.. Not really trouble with the law.. more like trouble with school rules and people.
      Once I was taking a photo of a stray dog, it chased after me so I ran into the road where I almost got hit by a car... The next day, I was at a train station taking photos and got too close to the railway making an approaching train apply its emergency brakes...

      I love this sign and your great story that goes with it. On my first visit to NYC when I was 19, I snapped a photo of a sign just like this one and still have it somewhere. It made me chuckle that it was so threatening in a sort of thought-police type of way.

      im 23 and have a beard so i am a magnet to cops as well
      recently i located a clearly discarded bike (in ruins) on the side of the road and parts are expensive so i stop and scavenge then a cop shows up then i get frisked and my friend gets frisked then they search my car for drugs and threaten to call the k9 squad on me ( ok ... go ahead i have a good lawyer and i am a tax paying citizen that doesnt do anything ..... )

      so finally the harassment stops and i drive off without parts .........

      oh and the sigma 10-20 mm f4-5.6 wide i love it it was well worth the investment

      Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed the humor.

      @sam,

      my brother had his entire car dismantled by the police when he came back from mexico because he "looked" like someone who may smuggle drugs. That was years ago, I guess some things stay the same.

      LOL, classic. Feels like the owner of the sign might for a moment be confused with someone who has a sense of humor, but then you remember that they posted the sign in the first place.

      Nice find :-) Now I know where to park my car

      I love all the stories that have popped up because of this sign! I found this one in the middle of the woods at Oswalds Bear World in the U.P., Michigan :-)
