Fast Sushi
Sushi zooming past at high speed. You have to be quick to catch it!
To make Fast Sushi you will need:
- 1 camera
- 1 support for the camera.
- 1 shutter release cable (optional)
Method
- Position the camera on the support, pointing at the sushi. Purists
will claim you need a tripod for this bit, but that's just nonsense. I
used a napkin dispenser.
- Set the camera to a longish kind of exposure. I found 1.3 seconds worked perfectly.
- Attach the shutter release cable (available for about tuppence from
eBay). If you don't have a shutter release cable, don't panic! Just
set the camera to delayed capture mode - you know, the one that lets
you run round into the picture. (Do not, however, run round into the
picture.)
- Fire the shutter.
Your Fast Sushi will be ready to serve in around 1.3 seconds.
Compare with Slow Sushi.

Reet spiffing this. Looks like a sushi motorway. This shot is so good I wish I'd taken it. So you qualify to add it to the I wish I'd taken that group.

Hey, noticed you used the 350D, which I'm gonna buy in a couple of weeks. Just wondering which lens you used for this?
bitrot (63 months ago | reply)
Good news, Manchester Monkey - this was the standard 18-55mm kit lens. The vast majority of my shots are taken with that lens, except the obvious zoomy ones (that's a 55-200mm Sigma zoom lens - about £100) and the obviouswide-angly ones (which are taken with my new 10-20mm Sigma wide-angle lens - ahem... more expensive!)
I think the kit lens is fine, and gets an undeserved bad rap. I've been super pleased with loads of shots I've taken with it.

I love long exposure shots with a lot of interestingly blurred subjects. Nice shot.
A fave of mine.
I also saw this on Faked, but my autoposting system does not work.
