Autum bath

Autum bath

After the long summer in the sun lot of leafs take a bath to cool off after the long summer. It was perhaps not the most quiet of places. This one took it's bath on Reykjavíks main shopping street Laugarvegur. As I laid on the wet pavement taking this picture people whispered and pointed me out.

Beach reflection

Beach reflection

At the south east corner of Iceland is Höfn í Hornafirði. A place I have been to a few times. Usually I just drive past there on my way somewhere else. Last summer I went on a photography trip with a group of fun people. They knew of this great place with beautiful dark sand and waves playing on it with a majestic mountain towering over it. Having seen so many pictures I gave it a go. I think the outcome is ok. But I regret not swimming in the ocean. It looked so inviting calling my in. I made do with running in it and ruining my fellows pictures.

They didn't see me

They didn't see me

They all took pictures of the waterfall. The rock face, the stream, the sky but they didn't see the rainbow. Flashing it's color just waiting to be seen.

But I saw you and I thank you for your display.

Into the night

Into the night

the bright starlight the night comes to life. The aurora borealis play in sky with it's striking green color contrasting against the blue night sky. The lonely cloud lingers as a reminder of the rain that was but slowly disappears. Everything seems to have it's place and it's was mine to be, stay, look and take in the wonders of the night.

Down to the river

Down to the river

Into the river some glacial water mixed with a lot of clear ground water. But looking around you can see how structures have been created to take on the glacial river in spring. The river bead is 20x larger that the small river I'm standing in. Poodle filled with silt and ash are all around. It's clear that the amount of water that flows down this valley differs greatly. Since it had been sunny and not to hot they day's before the glacial melting was at it lowest making the river clearer than normally.

Perhaps the title for the picture should have been "down into the river" in my case. I love to wade these into rivers and the ocean. The normal temperature for such a short river is about 4°C and I was not wearing any foot ware. There for I need to take a few breaks while shooting the river to prevent my toes from falling off.
