Guinea Hen

Feathers are the theme this week at Feathery Friday. We have lots of feathers here to choose from. Many of you are familiar with the Sebastopol geese and their floppy feathers but I thought I would highlight the guineas with their wonderful poka dot pattern. This is the natural pattern for these birds and my favorite.

A wonderful portrait of a beautiful Guinea Hen, Alice. So happy it made EXPLORE....so very deserving.

I sure miss the 3 Guinea Hens from goat hill.......no one will ever know what ate them....but I saved their feathers. One night....by one night...each disappeared. Only once were feathers found.....

The sound they make is divine....

Alice, re: your comment about me having a new camera........I got a little bitsy Olympus to take on trips. It was inexpensive and is about almost too small.......my hands are too big for it I think, but it is great to put in the pocket for walks and trips and it does pretty good, but not as good as the DSLR..........very convenient tho......and I am happy with it , the zoom seems very good for a point and shoot.

I love these birds Alice, we used to have some and they endlessly facinated me. They actually make good watch birds as they would always let us know when something/someone was around that they did not know.
