Medway Godwits

Medway Godwits

Four Black Tailed Godwits enjoying the receding tide at Riverside Country Park near Rainham,Kent. If you look closely at the one on the left, you will see the coloured rings.ve to know.
Bird's Right Leg is Red/White/Red its Left Leg is Red/Yellow/ Green from top to bottom.I have now done a bit of research and discovered that there is an international ringing scheme. Godwit ringing is carried out in Iceland,Netherlands,France,Russia,Portugal and ireland, as well as Britain. The six ring configuration seems to indicate that it was done by Pete Potts, who rings in various UK locations, including right here on the Medway where he has ringed 29 birds.

10 stop blue 2

10 stop blue 2

I have just bought 10 stop ND filters for my 67mm 18-105 and my 77mm 400mm lenses. I couldn't afford BW or Lee, so I got Haida (about £30). This is my first trip to try them. The water wasn't moving much ,just gentle ripples caused by the wind. Taken at Riverside Country Park near Rainham Kent
