A few weeks ago I did some portraits of my friend Pat and his father. Trying to work on planned (as opposed to street) portraits has been a project this year-- it's something that I hadn't done since I was an undergraduate until February of this year. It's been an interesting process, with a fair number of failures. That being said, I liked the way some of the ones I did at chez a nameless yeast came out. I had imagined them as somewhat dramatic and cinematic when I'd initially talked to Pat about doing them, and they ended up looking pretty much how I'd imagined them-- something that rarely happens.

aka bea, a nameless yeast, blue coyote laughing, ollee, and 2 other people added this photo to their favorites.

This is a superb photograph Jennifer. I love the lighting and the contrasting poses of the subjects. Fantastic!! Are we going to see more of the series?

Very funny, and the father definitely steals the show here...

This is neat, and his dad does steal the show a bit. Looking forward to more of these!

Really like the side light lighting on this.

What's the story on the metering? Use the force? Or didy meter for highlights?

mmmm.... vague metering + force.... I mean, dood, you've gone out shooting with me- my planned portraits are only slightly more, ahem, scientific.
