Each blood red blossom chosen here
dethorned and placed before us
each a single wish of joy
but yet held in aggregate
express a wondrous sentiment
that meets the senses like a blush
as rushing perfume to our being
prepares us for a quiet touch
that reaches out across the miles
speaking more than adoration
or shallow spectacle
but one heart reaching to another
through love we are enabled
to walk through more tortuous times
and smile the smile of love remembered
for who we are and may become
