Beaver damage?

read me, cut me, quoth the tree.
honor the beaver, quoth caddy
Beaver damage? by billy liar.
I was suprised to see what looks like beaver damage near the confluence of the Ohio and Big Sandy rivers. I didn't think beavers would live near such large and busy rivers.
