Have a merry HDR Christmas!

Have a merry HDR Christmas!

Composed from 9 shots: the base photo has an exposure bracket of ±2EV. Additionally, I added a slight magenta–green white balance bracket, so that's 9 exposures:

-2 EV / green 0 EV / green +2 EV / green
-2 EV / no shift 0 EV / no shift +2 EV / no shift
-2 EV / magenta 0 EV / magenta +2 EV / magenta

Then I used Enfuse to combine the nine images (rendered from RAW to TIFF through Lightroom, of course), to give me what you see here.

I'm releasing this image completely free under Creative Commons (CC-By-SA), so feel free to use it as a background for your own holiday cards, gift tags, or anything else you wish—as long as you credit the original creator, Billy Halsey (i.e., me!).

These rings represent...

These rings represent...

As many of my friends know, I served as photographer for my sister's wedding on 18-October-2008. Although I love photography and I will happily photography anyone and anything, wedding photography is, in a word, anathema.

Still, it was for my younger sister.

I took this photo of her and her husband's wedding bands the day after, on 19-October-2008, in my bedroom.

Technical note: The photo was shot at f/6.3, 1/10, ISO 400, at 85mm. I was standing approximately, coincidentally, about 85 mm away from their conjoined hands. :)

I have not altered this photo in ANY way with any software. I have not even so much as corrected the white balance. What you see is EXACTLY how it rolled out of my camera. The only place where I have made alterations is to add my signature, but I've been diligent to preserve the color space in which the photo was originally shot (Adobe RGB).
