You are pushing your luck with this, the

pool.
I think it's a gorgeous cat, and I can

seriously, i was gonna delete it when i saw
the thumbnail in the pool, instantly changed
my mind when i saw the photo*, and then
changed my mind again when i noticed the
thing to the left
* great green eyes, goes very well with the
color of the fur
why did you leave the lamp thing in there?
and what 's with the blue stuff? sheet's are
great, though

1. i thought this was a good shot, but
didn't have high hopes getting a cat shot
past the filters.
2. i'm a little surprised that people don't
like the lamp as i think of it as adding some
depth to the idea that he's on my desk.

Concur with the 'deleteme' brigade. I
think we either need to see a whole lot more
of the lamp or a whole lot less. This is
neither.

This is a great shot allright.
I've no problem with the subject being a
cat or the presence of this desklamp (or
whatever it is), that is not distracting at
all! Actually most of the wolves are too
easily distracted, they certainly suffer from
a bad case of attention disorder.
But what I don't like about it is the
cropping you did, the centered eye, the
unfocused nose and darkedned left eye. It
feels like you had to crop something out to
avoid bigger distractions on your
composition... Sorry, didn't work for me.

I know myself how hard it is to get pets to
stay still while we click away and also how
hard it is to catch personality in such
poses. The context is charming and
appropriate. I'd save it.

You're either for cat photos or you're
aganist them. I'm against them unless there
is something special in the composition. I
can admire the technical quality of this
photograph, and the patience required to get
the shot, But it doesn't quite stand out
enough from the feline crowd for those of us
not personally acquainted with this cat.
So - I vote 'delete me' in the Deleteme
group.

A CAT, for gods sake. On a desk.
Cutecutecute, catsy cat. But look at those
eyes. Aww. Argh.
My fingers twitch. My brain reels. A cat.
Staring at me with those dumb, cute, green
empty eyes. Thinking: "huh?", like
they do all the time. Except when they think:
"It moved!"
What can I do. The colors. The hair. The
setting, on the desk, that lamp piece. I have
no choice.

I have had this picture as a
"favorite" for a while. I didn't
realize I hadn't commented before. I will

I have seen this picture in several
different groups, and everytime I come across
it, I exclaim: "Oh my!". Not only
is this a wonderful 'portrait'... but the

I like the lamp base - colours are metallic
and soft, and with the brownish patina on the
metal it brings out the tones in the cat
-then the eyes of sparkling jade - its like a
jewel!
