Amazing in this day and age of smaller and smaller computers and other technology, that they need all that space for equipment.

A lot of what you see there are power converters, and significant space is required just for air flow / cooling. I'll add notes highlighting where the actual computers are. The shelves were maybe 18 inches deep or whatever the depth of the cargo space is on the Scion. The back seat is still installed on this car.
