Northern lights developing

The Plough / Big Dipper

It was amazing to see them take over the sky! The Plough (Big Dipper) is also visible at the top of the photo.

I have to admit it's the first time i've attempted to take a picture of the Northern Lights either because i've missed them due to clouds or timing, or just because I didn't have my camera with me. My aim was just to try and capture them as you see them in the sky without any post processing.

The aurora is always a tough capture. This one is well executed, including stars with almost no streaking, and the barren northern landscape. This is good work. Almost makes me want to head north.
