I wonder where this is, it's a wonder we don't bump into one another... must have missed you by minutes. Nice picture, well captured. I like the statutes pics. I forgot they were on, couldn't get though even if I wanted to. They make good subjects and you captured them well. See you, Paul.

Thanks Paul! I left Smisby heading towards the Fair, and noticed the stunning sunset. The sun was where I indicate in the note above, and the cloud was rimmed with this amazing orange glow. Suddenly I noticed someone stopped at the side of the road in camoflage trousers. The first thought in my head was "yettis doings". I pulled in behind him (Google Earth 52°45'54.78"N 1°28'49.55"W - "Manorial Earth Works" according to streetmap.co.uk).
Almost immediately I realised it wasn't you - the man didn't have a camera and he didn't have any hair on his head, except for a long beard. Next I noticed that the sunset was obscured by a large tree, and to walk past it would mean going to lower ground and making other compromises on the view. So, after briefly passing the time of day with the stranger, I headed off to my usual spot which I call the "four sisters" after the four trees which can silhouette the skyline. This is a cultivated field just off the highest point on the Ashby bypass (Google Earth 52°45'46.02"N 1°27'59.82"W, or thereabouts).
We should try to bump into each other sometime! ~Mark
