I stumbled into an early morning Chinese market and its interesting
merchandise of black chicken during one of my Kuala Lumpur walks. At
first, I thought these are either marinated or fermented in black
sauce. But the chickens are freshly dressed and have real black skins.
I was told these are cooked into soup for the consumption of those who
have just given birth. In the Ilocano part of the Philippines, this is
similar to the post-birth practice of "agpatanggad".
