the moping toms

the moping toms by this inspired life.
I'm a definite greenhouse rookie. I've all but completely cooked my beautiful toms. I'm loving that I'm learning SO much because of this experience though... I never knew there was so much to learn about using a greenhouse, such as tomatoes actually really don't like much heat, but cucumbers, peppers and melons can't get enough of it. Who knew!? Anyway, I have moved my almost dead tomatoes out into the open air and hopefully that, in combination with some serious fish fertilizer therapy, will revive them to the point that they'll give us at least a few tomatoes...
Oh, and please ignore the hideous patch of earth where the toms currently sit. We're no where near having the time or money to build our beds and fix it the way we like it yet. Or put up a more adequate fence between us and the neighbor's junk yard collection, which is a distant dream at this point.

(This is a rather embarrassing photo considering my past successes with many varieties of tomatoes. I still can't believe these were my once thriving and dark green baby plants...)
