This is a bit random I know, but have you ever seen the film "A bugs life"?? This image reminds me of a particular scene:

This was taken at the same location that I took the image of the Duke of Portland Boathouse where unfortunately the amazing sunrise was happening behind me. I snapped a few shots but was uninspired by the blandness of the scene (see comments). I still wanted to use the image though and I felt it would be perfect to have another go with playing about with manipulation. I pretty much spent the whole day yesterday and most of this morning creating this, gosh its a tad bit tedious, and I'm not sure I actually enjoy it much, but its done now! The tree is from the light my fire image and I used a stock image for the flying ducks.

Besides, it is Sunday a lil bit of sliding and cheating is allowed.....surely?!!? HSS

Raiding the old archives today. We have had such a rubbish winter, I was hoping to get some snowy shots for my stream.....alas we only had snow the day I went on a hike to the Lakes. And the day after I was just too shattered to go out with my camera again and then the snow just disappeared :-(.

This was taken from a shoot I did for my friend Zoe last April. I've actually only sent her a couple of images so far. Thankfully she understands that I only feel inspired to process images on a very erratic basis and has never hassled me about it!

Thank you all for your visits, comments, and constructive criticism about my recent uploads, I have taken them all in and will be revisiting some of the images again but for now I've pretty much uploaded all the usable images form the "Lake District" trip, so you'll be glad to know there won't be any landscapes for a while :-)

This is actually an experiment, I've actually merged 2 images together, each exposed at different shutter speeds, so I could retain the details and colours in the sky and still get a long exposure'ish look on the water.....what d'ya think??

So, I've been out today and bought myself an 18% grey card, I feel its about time I learnt about exposure compensation, and not simply rely on PS. So my task for the day is learning about the zone system and evaluating the dynamic range of my D90.....haha, I love how I actually sound like I know what I'm talking about here!!

Hearts and roses and kisses galore,
What the hell is all that s*%t for?
People get mushy and start acting queer,
It is definitely the most annoying day of the year.
This day needs to get the hell over with and pass,
Before I shove something up Cupid's ass.
I'll spend the day so drunk I can't speak
And wear black for the rest of the week.
Guys act all sweet, but soon it will fade,
For all they are doing is trying to get laid.
The arrow Cupid shot at me must not have hit,
Cause I think this love thing is a crock of s@*t.
