My tripod broke down last week and so I had to try to capture the moon's magic without--this photo does not capture the incredible clarity of the evening or the enormity of the moon on the rise as the sun sets opposite.

Still a great photo even sans tripod. Love the grays.

This picture is captivating. It is so hard to get a good photo of the scene you describe!.

In my email this morning, I saw it in the rss feed for your pictures along side "last one" - a very interesting pair side by side, in your next book :-). Your skills inspire me!

Thanks, @tuchodi and @keepps. The clouds added some of the mystery that my camera wouldn't have been able to capture without them. Shooting pictures of the natural world forces me to look for composition, frames, magic in what is here before me. I feel as though I am just beginning to find my voice and yet I have been sharing my photos from the start; whereas I wrote for years before sharing a thing! It's been a bit scary! Your encouragement gives me hope that I'll find my stories with this camera as well as with my pen.
