They charge you enormous fees, it's impossible to reach a person in their automated system, they do everything they CAN to help you overdraw your account (well, that's a little my fault) and they don't care about your business. After all, you're only ONE person.
So I'm in the process of complaining to them (and whoever else will listen) by moving my money to a smaller, nicer financial institution. After this month, I should never have to deal with BOA again.

i'm bailing out of BofA too. i absolutely hate them, and i've been a member for years. their new policies drive me crazy. customer service has reached a horrible and frustrating standstill. all the surprises and gotchya's are irritating. the overdraft "protection" is a load of crap. i'm out.

Bank of America will suck your checking dry of funds. I have three different banks and they are the only ones I get fees from because they transfer money from checking to savings so I can have "free" checking and make it look like I have more in my combined accounts than I really have. When I go to pay their credit card I get overdraft fees because I don't have as much in my account as they said I do. I didn't understand until I watched this happen three months in a row and now it's time for a class action lawsuit. I keep my money in a real bank and just have a small direct derect deposit going into this one. Otherwise I would not have noticed.

Those people who hate banks are people who don't know how to manage funds & who sign legal docs. w/o understanding the terms & conditions. I feel sorry for you. Fees are results of funds mismanagement, that's all there is to it.
