Student Appreciation 2007 |
On June 18, Bethany students and staff
enjoyed a night of make-believe as part
of an annual Student Appreciation event.
The night was filled with laughter and
surprise, as the students only clue to
the evening was to come dressed tattered
and torn as if they had been in a
shipwreck. Little did they know, they
were about to be stranded on an island
run by fierce, yet friendly tribal
people. After a delicious feast with
their new friends, the freshmen students
were led to a cave, where they
discovered a treasure map and clues to
finding the hidden treasure. Meanwhile
the senior students traveled across the
island trying to find a way to get home.
On their journey they encountered
mysterious jungle sisters who sent them
on a scavenger hunt to find items they
required in exchange for the only boat
on the island. The rest of the evening
was filled with daring escapes as the
freshmen tried to track down their
treasure, the seniors met up with a wild
troll, and all of the students attempted
to avoid being captured by pirates. The
adventure ended with all staff and
students back in the tribal village
enjoying a tasty treat of banana splits
in a coconut shell.
Thank you to mentor Via Cadena for
taking pictures at the event.
