October Garden Produce

I have had a good harvest of cooking apples this year. I have made Apple and Walnut Chutney with some of the produce and here you can see the result - all home made and organic produce.
This chutney is made with apple and vinegar with sugar and sultanas and walnuts with some spices. The bottled produce lasts through the winter. It is nice to enjoy Chutney with Cheese and crackers or with Roast Beef or Baked Potatoes.

Very nice. I see you too use "cellophane" under the cover to close your pots ; it is no more usual ;-)

This year I changed my way to close the pots.
I put the metallic cap just after filling the pots with boiling (very hot) marmelade - nothing else - and immediatly put the pots head under (reverse) them!
And when all is totally cold, storage !
Yes, it is easy and perfect !

Thank you manu/manuela for your advice. If you look closely at the photo you will see that some of the pots have the french tricolor flag on the lid. This is because all these pots were first bought in a shop and they had mayonnaise in them. They were all thoroughly cleaned and the lids were perfect to use again for the chutney. Yes, you are right the cellophane is not essential though.

yes, I see the little flags on the big pots :-)
