Hairpin for the Stars

Newer Older

Explore #4: January 17, 2010

A high mountain hairpin turn makes for a neat setting to shoot the starry night sky in winter. Glow from Denver's lights appears on the left (from 50 some miles away!) while the darker sky on the right reveals the Milky Way (woohoo!). This long exposure image (102 seconds) was taken near the top of Berthoud Pass in Colorado.

Thanks again everyone! I can see that people sure like the starry skies - which I'm thrilled to see. I look forward to the next new moon and the chance to try it again.

Somehow I missed this one. I really like. I love see the stars. Where I am at they are hard to see. Too many trees and lights. Great shot.
