Grafikfehler im Dock
Das Dock ist umstritten - Apple hat das Aussehen des Docks, wenn es links oder rechts angebracht ist, noch in letzter Minute geändert. Aber auch die Position am unteren Bildschirmrand hat noch ein paar Macken (siehe "Notes").

What's wrong with it? That's a rounded corder, but in 3D.

To me it looks like that the bottom edge (that 2-3 pixel high rectangle that enforces the 3d-feel) doesn't go through all the way to the left and right side. It's like they painted a trapeze and slapped a too short rectangle on the bottom (I've marked the area with a note).
But perhaps I'm wrong (and just blind ;-) -- where do you see a rounded corner?

Yeah, from how I see it, that lighter grey is a bevel of the shelf. Light is coming from below, that's why it's lighter. The bottom light doesn't reach the side. That's why it doesn't go all the way. The combination of the reflected light and dark side give a sense of a slightly rounded corner.
That's my theory anyway.
On another thought, those damn glowing orbs are really really annoying. When I get Leopard, first thing I'm doing is replacing them.

Ah, now I know what you mean! You interpret those extra pixels on the bottom left as a curve. But I'm pretty sure it's not a rounded corner. If you look closely from the upper left to the lower left corner you'll see that it's a straight line. If it's supposed to be rounded (and even then it's a strange choice, the rounding should be on the upper side not on the side next to the bezel) they must take away a few more pixels to achieve a rounded effect.
I agree with you on the lighter grey area though, that's how I see it too. The bevel makes it "more" 3d.
I don't mind the glowing orbs -- although the whole new dock looks a little overdone and chock-full of every possible effect that OS X offers. ;-) If you search the web you find a lot of understandable complaints about it: pseudo 3d, wrong angles, wrong lightning, visualization of minimized stacks, ... -- all in all quite a few things Apple needs to work on.

mich stört noch immer, dass das dock soviel platz braucht. vor allem mit den breiten bildschirm nimmt es wertvollen horizontalen platz weg. klassische taskbars wie in windows, gnome oder kde sind viel genügsamer.

Stimmt schon, aber warum platzierst du das Dock nicht auf der Seite? Bei mir braucht die Windows-Taskbar eigentlich genau so viel platz, weil ich Sie immer auf zwei Reihen vergrößere (damit diese furchtbare automatische Gruppierung erst später greift ;-)).
