1896, Boston Globe, paper dolls![]() Seller info:
This is an original August 1896 Boston Sunday Globe supplement titled "Globe Quadruple Perfecting Press". It is an 11" x 10" heavy stock paper page with cut outs for the workers and machinery of the printing press. Each piece has tabs that fold to stand it upright after being cut out -- and then each is placed in their numbered slot on the platform. Ten pieces in all. Copyrighted by The Forbes Co. of Boston. This is in very good condition -- firm edges, no paper loss and foxing only on the back. There is a straight fold along one long edge of the platform but it is where the line would be cut. also the day of the month on which this was published in blacked out. It is either August 2, 9, or 16 as I have the 23rd and 30th cut outs in my other listings. Posted here for your bidding pleasure: Flickr has required the removal of reference links to the large auction eBsite, although they were for reference only, and I had no monetary interest in them. Sold for $23.38, 3/30/08. Seems cheap to me.
