This was on the beach at the Catalonia Riviera Maya in Cancun. There was a water-logged tree trunk at the edge of where the beach wraps around, right where the rocks meet the ocean waves (see the notes above). It had seen just enough of the ocean waves to be comfortable to relax on. When the waves came crashing in I'd stay dry while being surrounded by water. I spent a couple hours out there. It was awesome.

In 2009, with just a single backpack in hand, I left the country on my own and in route for Cancun. I took only about 5 photos and 4 videos while I was there. I didn't even bring the nice camera. Completely uncharacteristic of me but completely refreshing.

Next time I go, I promise better photos.
