History's Reflection

Newer Older

No Photoshop!
Single Exposure :-)

Minor color and light adjustments made in Lightroom 2

When I got to this lake and made it through the trees to the shore of the lake, and saw the stars, the mountain, and the Milky Way all reflecting in the lake- I know this sounds cheesy, but I almost teared up.
It was beautiful.

Never in my life, in all my travelling, in all my backpacking, have I seen the Milky Way so finely reflected in water like this- and to be able to see it with my own eyesight?! It was incredible.

My friend and I were only supposed to be here shooting for 1-2hrs so I could get back for sleep for work the next morning. ....didn't happen!
Made it home with an hour before work ;-)

I want to gush more about this, but I will be late for work!! I gotta go! :-(
I'll have another interesting one to post later tonight!

Enjoy!
As always, feedback appreciated
OH- and a big thank you to my girlfriend for her support of my starry night shooting. Thank you Valorie :-)

Thanks Jesse, this was really an incredible night. I've never seen the Milky Way reflected with my own eyes ever before. It was such an experience

Dude, if you are in Oregon you are in star heaven. You HAVE to get to Steen's Mountain and enjoy even darker night skies of SE OR. Needless to say though, this is one of my favorite night images you have yet posted. Truly remarkable image that you should print, frame and be proud of!
