Strobist info: 1 SB-800 Bounced off white foam core board 1' above subject.

Shot with 105mm Macro, f6.3 to get slightly more depth of field.

This Photoshoot is making me thirsty!

Strobist info:

1 SB-800 at +2 EV pointed at a white background
1 SB-600 high camera left at -1EV to light the front of the glass
1 SB-600 high camera right at -1EV to light the bottle opener.

Speedlights controlled via SU-800 commander.

An Experiment

This is something a little different I tried.

I knew I couldn't get both the long exposure for the smooth water with the proper exposure of the snow/ice formation, so I shot several exposures with the intent of merging them.

The snow formation is an HDR from a single RAW file to bring out the details of the snow.
The river was a 5.0 second exposure.

I merged them with layers in photoshop.

I'm not entirely sure of the result, but I can't determine what to change. Would love to hear what people think.
