      Oh wow! Now you have me totally stumped. At first I thought maybe the orchid family but now I have no clue! I sure do like the uniqueness of this plant. Do you have a photo showing more of the foliage? It does kinda look like ET.

      naturesbest, lol, I knew this would probably stump you. This is actually the bud, and I will post a photo of the whole flower tomorrow!
      My husband says its a dogwood, I really don't know. I thought dogwood's had some red in them. I know once you see the actual flower you will be able to identify it for me . Thanks.

      yes, I believe this is a mutant dogwood -- the leaf buds give away the tree, but that flower must have been smoking something... great shot!!!
