'52 Porsche-Glöckler
1 of 3 Porsche-Glocklers in existence. I'd say I was pretty lucky to get this shot....even luckier to have it come out so fine, considering I had never run a roll of film through the camera yet. A few months back, I picked up a 1956 Rolleiflex 3.5E with the Zeiss Planar lens, and was so excited to shoot the camera when I bought it, that I grabbed any roll of film I could get my hands on. Instead of doing my homework first, I grabbed an expired roll of 220 Kodak Portra 160NC and loaded her up. My thought was..."if it will shoot 120, it will shoot 220, right?" Wrong. So I later found out. The pressure plate in the camera does not adjust to 220 film like so many other medium format cameras and can cause 220 film to come out un-focused properly, since you are at risk of having too much slack in your film up against the film plane. But enough technical talk, because the entire roll came out beautiful. I'm really stoked to be shooting a proper medium format camera that works so well. I was equally stoked to get shot of such a equally iconic piece of engineering.
For those who may not know, this early Porsche design was deemed responsible for getting Porsche into the racing world. With the success of this car at the Nurburgring and several other racing events in 1952, Porsche entered the world of high-performance sports cars and went on to develop the famous 356 .....the little car that started it all.

Phalaenopsis
Phalaenopsis (if you are fancy), Orchid (if you are like everyone else).
It's been a while since I've posted anything up on Flickr....so I thought I'd give it a go again. I've kind of taken a break from shooting my DSLR and started shooting a lot more film, specifically medium format and some instant/Polaroid formats.
Here is my first go at some color instant film with my newly acquired Polaroid SX-70. I picked up some of Impossible Project's PX 680 Color Shade when I was in New York last week and popped it in to try it out. I burned the first few shots trying to get the camera dialed in, but kind of like the way this one turned out.
Camera: Polaroid SX-70
Film: Impossible Projects PX 680 Color Shade / First Flush.
I used the drop-in Neutral Density pack filter with this film so that it would expose pseudo properly in the SX-70.
Post Processing: Used mechanical pencil tip to draw on the photo after initial development time was up.
Scanner: Epson V600

Still Feels Like Winter
I know it seems like half the country is buried under snow right now with plenty of single digit and negative numbers reading on the thermometer. So I'm not complaining, I'm more or less making the obvious observation that it still feels like winter....and that would be because, technically, it is still winter. You have to remember that I'm from a land that knows no seasons, just some rain. I suppose I've just always associated harsh winter storms with months like December and January. So it comes as a shock that we are not starting a transition into warmer spring like weather. Maybe I'm just impatient, it is only the beginning of February after all. Either way, I hope every one is safe and warm with a roof, a warm fire, and hot food on the table. That is all I can ask for any of us.

Little Bug
My friends' daughter Eden is quite possibly one of the cutest kids I've ever encountered. All she ever wants is to dance and eat popsicles, and that sounds like a plan in my book.
Maybe its just little kids in general, but its a real challenge to capture her still, or even looking at the camera for that fact. Got to be quick on the draw. Little Bug, suited up in PJ's and ready for bed.
Strobist: SB-28, 1/4 power, shoot-thru 43" umbrella, flying overhead to the left and feathered out. Triggered with Cyber syncs.

The Fire-Cheif
Its been a long time....no doubt. But I'm coming back and kicking back into gear with some analog. I just found this roll of scanned $2 CVS film that I had developed right before moving to Oregon. I love finding surprises!
Anyways, I've been a terrible contact and completely inactive for some time. I plan on revisiting streams and catching up on all of your wonderful work.
By the way this is an old gas station in Pasadena that is now a taco stand called Taco Station. Their street style tacos are pretty bomb. Go try them if you are in the area.
