I'm not sure what, exactly, this pretty little "weed" is, but I love anything wispy, swirly, twisty or curvy and it caught my eye. Although it has a sense of autumn about it, this was taken on Christmas day.

You all have been such an inspiration to me throughout my last 3 years here! I'm fairly sure you have no idea how much time I spend in each of your streams, studying and admiring your photos, your techniques, your EXIF data (ha!), and also reading through all of the comments that others leave in your daily uploads, which entertain me, educate me, make me laugh, cry, and think outside of the box. I have learned, and have grown, so much from knowing you all on Flickr, and although I have not met most of you in person, each one of you have touched me in many different ways. Thank you so much for your friendship, and everything that goes with it: silliness, laughing together, crying together, heartfelt conversations over email and by phone, the little behind-the-scenes acts of kindness: all of it means so much to me. I *thought it would give me some good macro shots, but that is not the case. Some huge, fluffy snow flakes were falling this morning, so I ventured outside to practice with the lens, and I failed terribly and am getting frustrated. Trying to determine what purpose the nifty 50 is best suited for... portraits? Bokeh, perhaps?! Any input from you all would be most welcome.

Had a blast at our New Year's Eve party last night! Tonight, I'm making New Year's dinner for some friends and family, and a heated Wii bowling competition will follow - ha!
