Help make our Christmas a more colourful one!
Elias and Leandro are certainly in for a more colourful Christmas this
year.
Living in utmost poverty, they will be among the more fortunate kids
who will have the opportunity to go to the coast and experience the sea and sand for a short holiday break this
summer, away from the favela (shanty), where they live in a tiny shack. They have never been away from thefavela before, and certainly never to the beach, even though the coast is
only an hour’s drive from Hummingbird.
There are many who won't be so lucky to have such a colourful Christmas this year.
It's probably hard for most of us to understand that even the simple
joys of childhood are missing in the lives of many of the kids we
attend at Hummingbird.
But Flickr members have started to understand the value of their
contributions and are steadily uniting their forces in support of our
programme for street children and other children at risk, through an
initiative mounted by another Flickr member, Marília (Mylens).
