Nathalia
When in her presence, I can sense her aura of dignity and self respect...
Second generation, 8-year old Nathalia, is the daughter of Luciana, adopted daughter of my dear Norwegian friend, Inger Harrington.
Inger has been working with children at risk for nearly 18 years in Brazil and now looks forward to the day she can retire and simply enjoy the presence of the second generation of kids growing up safely around her.

@btezra, I actually hate the use of flash, no matter how low level the light is. The natural light source always produces the warmth I feel they deserve. - Thanks for mentioning that.

~I agree w/ you, I use the tag "smash your flash" quite a bit...since I bought the EF 50mm 1.8 I have graciously welcomed not using a flash, even though I have never been a fan of one to begin with~

Yes Liisa, it is a wonderful feeling to look back and feel that you made a difference in some people's lives, but there is a hefty price tag on your own life that very few would be willing to pay.
I look forward to the day Inger writes her book, it will certainly have all the ingredients to be a best seller.
I feel these photos of Nathalia and Michele really radiate the generation change that slowly but surely takes place when positive investment is made by a few caring human beings.
We all need to care a little more....
